CSV and Excel Converter
Convert CSV to Excel or Excel to CSV in your browser. Pick your delimiters for import and export. Max 12 MB per file, 6 conversions per minute.
Convert between CSV and Excel on this page. Use the direction switch to go from CSV to Excel or from Excel to CSV. Upload your file and you will see its name and format so you know what is selected.
You can set a custom delimiter for both import and export. When your file is CSV, the import delimiter tells the tool how columns are separated (comma, semicolon, tab, or any character you enter). When the result is CSV, the export delimiter controls what goes into the downloaded file. Everything runs in your browser. Max 12 MB per file and 6 conversions per minute.

FAQ
What is the maximum file size?
Each file can be up to 12 MB. That is enough for most spreadsheets. If you hit the limit, try splitting the data or removing unused columns.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device and we do not store or see it.
How do I set the delimiter for CSV?
Use the import delimiter when your source file is CSV so we know how to split columns. Use the export delimiter when the result is CSV so the downloaded file uses the character you want. You can type a single character, or use a comma, semicolon, or tab. For tab you can enter a tab or type \t.
My CSV uses a semicolon. Will it work?
Yes. Set the import delimiter to a semicolon. The tool will then read your CSV correctly and you can convert to Excel or another CSV with the delimiter you choose for export.
Why is there a rate limit?
We allow 6 conversions per minute so the tool stays fast for everyone. If you hit the limit, wait a short while and try again.
