FAQ
What is BMR?
Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories your body burns at rest to maintain vital functions (breathing, circulation, etc.).
Which formula does this use?
Mifflin-St Jeor: Men: 10×weight(kg) + 6.25×height(cm) − 5×age + 5. Women: same but −161 instead of +5.
Can I use imperial units?
Yes. Choose metric (kg, cm) or imperial (lb, ft/in). The calculator converts internally.
Is BMR the same as calories I need per day?
No. BMR is at rest. Total daily need (TDEE) = BMR × activity factor. Use the TDEE calculator for that.
